I just assembled this computer and here are the details: motherboard Gigabyte B650 Aorus Elite AX, CPU Ryzen 7 7800X3D, RAM Gskill Flare X5 DDR5 2x16GB 6000 MT/s, CL 30-38-38-96 PSU. The GPU isn’t installed yet but it’s a 7900X. After turning it on, I noticed a bright red DRAM indicator and no other lights. After waiting a while, the screen appeared normal. I tried pressing Delete to access BIOS for updates, hoping a newer version could resolve the issue since my RAM setup might be causing problems. The mouse worked and keyboard functioned on another machine, so I’m not sure what else might be wrong. Any suggestions?

Since this is a new build, press 'Y' and you'll be good to go. The TPM module and bitlocker are intended to protect your drives from thieves. They won't be able to read your data on their computer unless they have the encryption key. As for solving your RAM issue. I recommend you remove the CPU, RAM and drives from your motherboard. Then follow your manual to flash the latest BIOS version (follow your manual for BIOS flashback feature). That should help with compatibility with newer processor and RAM. Good luck !

This method is different from just using the BIOS update tool. It involves removing parts to access the system, which might seem more complex but could be necessary for a proper update. The concern about anxiety is normal since it’s your first time doing this.

If your processor isn't compatible with your BIOS version, it's wise to update the BIOS manually just in case. Your motherboard usually has a button on the I/O shield for this purpose. Ultimately, you're assembling the computer yourself—feel free to try the BIOS method if you wish. I didn't mention that resetting the CMOS after a BIOS update could be beneficial. Please refer to your user manual for detailed steps, though the process is generally straightforward.

Pressing Y navigated me to the bios, and so far everything is working. I'll examine the CMOS next.

Don't encounter this notice again unless you switch to a different CPU.

Received a bios ID verification issue and need to confirm the update was installed on the correct board. Doubted I might have missed it, though I could easily have made a mistake. Edit: Possibly downloaded an incorrect revision—my version is 1.2, and I might have come from the 1.0/1.1 page.

The webpage should be displayed. Please choose the BIOS section. Your processor needs to match BIOS F1, but newer versions include enhancements for 7000x3d chips. RAM compatibility is also important. After your system starts, remember to install all Windows updates before applying AMD GPU drivers. If you encounter an error like 'no compatible hardware found,' it means Windows isn't receiving the latest updates.

I think I misunderstood the page. The update marked "FCd" is supposed to be stable, but I'm still having issues with the BIOS ID check. My current version is FB, and there are only two versions listed. I was hoping for improvements for my specific processor and DDR5 performance, but I need to avoid any unfinished or incomplete releases.

I finally received the right bios page and was about to update it when a restart took me here. Neither escape nor any other button does anything except enter the shell line, and I don’t want to power down since that’s what was warned is the last step during a bios update. Do you know what happened? Was the update unsuccessful? Should I flash my bios now?
