Hello, thank you for reaching out. I recently installed this setup: Gigabyte X570S AORUS ELITE AX AMD Ryzen 9 5900X nVidia GTX 1070 16GX (8x2) XMP-3200 DDR4 RAM. My concern is that my BIOS might not be configured properly, and I can’t enable XMP without running into crashes. According to the Event Viewer, the RAM seems to be the issue. Any advice or guidance you can offer would be greatly appreciated! Could you share your current BIOS settings and RAM details?

try to pinpoint the problem by checking other components. If you can't find a better match, consider upgrading to a more affordable but still powerful option like the hdv. Otherwise, this setup is likely the issue—XMP at slower speeds usually works, and if RAM fixes don’t help, the board itself may be faulty. Rarely are defective CPUs the cause, so investigate further before assuming it’s your fault.

I constructed this device about a year ago and invested many hours in adjusting its clock speed until it functioned properly. However, the BIOS reset yesterday left me seeking assistance. An RMA is not an option.

First, identify the RAM slots—ideally slots 2 and 4 from the CPU side (A2 and B2 on the silk screen). These are best for high-speed operation. A 3200 MHz should function even in incorrect slots, but testing is recommended. If issues persist, adjust XMP settings for frequency, voltage, and timing parameters under Advanced Memory Settings > DRAM Timings. Raising the DRAM voltage to 1.4V from the default 1.35V can sometimes improve stability, though it’s not guaranteed. Always back up your BIOS before making changes. Gigabyte provides a hot key; locate it via the "Save and Exit" menu or by navigating to the profile section.

I thought it was probably within a month or maybe a couple of months. If that’s the case, the builds should still be okay. Please send me a screenshot of the burner to check for ICE and see if the XMP profile timings have ever worked before. Did XMP ever function on your setup?

This situation is quite unusual. A year ago I faced difficulties getting into Windows with XMP enabled, even after testing multiple BIOS versions. Recently, everything seems to function smoothly without any crashes. I ran a TimeSpy demo and it completed successfully. I'm puzzled about the sudden improvement. Your advice will be appreciated—I'll share more updates if needed. Also, I spent a lot of time underclocking to achieve stability before then. Thanks again for your help!
