My friend was trying to upgrade his GPU and needed a new power supply, so he bought a Corsair Rm750e. However, it seems the PSU isn’t compatible with his motherboard. The fans on his old GPU are still spinning even without connected PCIe cables, but the motherboard’s LED won’t light up and neither will the LEDs on his keyboard or mouse. Initially, we thought the PSU was faulty, so he replaced it, but it didn’t work either. His old PSU is still functioning perfectly with the motherboard, suggesting there’s nothing broken physically. I recently visited his house to check for possible reasons why it might not be working, knowing more about him than a PC. I brought back the PSUs and tested them with my own PC, which both worked fine. This confusion persists—both the motherboard and power supplies seem okay individually, but they don’t work together. Anyone have any ideas why this might be happening?

Biostar b460 gtq paired with an intel i7 10700, 16gb ram. Previous GPU was an 1650 super, now upgraded to a 6700xt with 1tb ssd. New power supply is Corsair RM750. Old PSU was a Thermaltake 550 model I don’t recall but couldn’t locate on the PSU cultists tier; it seems to be quite old.
