I just got my new or refurbished gaming PC from Xidax. I’m trying to power it on but the display isn’t working properly. Once the desktop appears, I notice white lines crossing through it, and now it’s not even showing the screen correctly. I’ve replaced the RAM and the graphics card, which is in an add-on PCIe slot, but after re-plugging it in, everything seems to be fine. Still, my keyboard doesn’t light up either. It was noted during setup that the three-prong connector wasn’t fully seated in the power supply unit. This could mean something got damaged internally. I’ve reached out to Xidax, but I really prefer fixing it myself rather than sending it back now that I have it.

My graphics card, which is installed in an add-on PCIe slot, can you send a picture of this slot? Are you talking about a PCIe riser cable? Try removing the discrete GPU from the first PCIe slot and take out the PCIe riser adapter. The PC shouldn't act like this at all, as it should be working normally when you have warranty and the system is brand new. It might have something loose during shipping or transit.

Unless you received specific instructions from them to open the PC and reinsert components, you might have already invalidated your warranty. There could be tamper seals or similar indicators that would confirm this. If not, I’m certain it’s true. Please return the device. The main reason for buying a pre-built unit is the extra warranty coverage you purchased.

A brief search for PCIe Riser confirms the name, and I understand the issue with my graphics not fitting on the motherboard because of its size without it. I'm not at home at the moment, but I'll definitely take a photo once I'm back in a few hours.

When I contacted their customer service, the initial advice was to reinsert the RAM, which suggests we're addressed there. I also have a record of this discussion.

That's acceptable. It's not uncommon for systems to require hardware re-seating because of vibrations during shipping. If you're already in touch with them, it might be wise to follow their advice as the next step. A short delay can be worthwhile given the quality of the equipment and the list of components.

It seems I might have made an issue with the PSU cable not being fully connected, and there could be a risk it doesn't cover properly.
