New power supply and graphics card cause the computer to start and stop.
Hello everyone, I'm using an Asus B450m pro4 motherboard with a 1070 GPU. The CPU is a Ryzen 5 5600, and I have Corsair Vengeance DDR4 RAM at 3200MHz. The PSU is a Seasonic GM500. After installing both the new motherboard and GPU, my system briefly powers on for about 20-30 seconds, then shuts off for roughly 2 seconds before restarting. I've used the cables from the new PSU. I've only added one RAM stick so far and changed the CPU paste. Trying to use the old PSU and GPU didn't help. I noticed the Ethernet lights don't activate when the cable is connected, but they glow red when disconnected. (Not sure if this matters). I suspect something might have been changed on the motherboard. Thanks ahead!
It appears the PSU activates protection after some time. A possible solution is to take all parts out of the case and attempt to start your computer on an open surface such as a cardboard box. If the problem resolves, it likely involved a short between the motherboard and case or a loose connector. Be careful when reassembling to avoid creating another short. If the issue continues, there may be a more serious fault. It could mean you damaged components during installation. You might need to replace parts with another system and figure out which one is defective.
