New PC setup without sound output.
New PC setup without sound output.
Details are important. I recently assembled a new setup and replaced the old unit that would eventually become part of a media server. I’ll share the specifications once completed. After finishing this configuration, all my drivers functioned properly, which is good for my experience. I have three monitors: two Asus models each with built-in speakers and one MSI monitor without speakers. I use Voice Meter to link audio to both Asus units positioned on opposite sides of the main MSI display. I noticed one monitor wasn’t receiving any sound in Voice Meter and also in the audio settings. I tried turning it off and back on, adjusted the HDMI cable, but nothing changed. As mentioned before, this new rig uses the same video card as my previous one, so I didn’t encounter problems. It seems I haven’t made any changes, which is confusing. In Voice Meter, it attempts to deliver audio, but it doesn’t appear in Windows sound settings. My other Asus monitor, which has been with me since 2014, works fine. Edit: 2 updates – the problematic monitor was the only one using an HDMI cable; I reinserted it and after reseating, Voice Meter showed A1 and A2 selections that needed to be clicked to play sound. It took longer than I’d admit, but I’m relieved it’s fixed. New specs: AMD Ryzen 9900X, 32GB RAM, Corsair memory, MSI Mobo graphics (exact model forgotten), MSI 3060 TI.
