New PC setup produces noticeable resonance—does it work with an air cooling system?
I just put together a new PC for the first time using an AIO unit. When it's running at idle or low RPM, I'm hearing a noise similar to what you shared: https://youtu.be/HQ4LE2B96Is?t=39. The specifications are as follows: CPU 12900kf, GPU Asus Rog Strix 3080, PSU Corsair RMx 850xGold, Memory G. Skill Trident Z RGB 4 x 8GB 3600MHZ, Motherboard Rog Strix Z690-A, Wi-Fi D4, AIO Liquid Freezer II 420. I've removed nearly everything from the case and repositioned it, but the sound persists. The only part I haven't changed is the motherboard, which seems unusual given its role. If anyone has experience with similar setups, I'm open to any advice on what might be causing this issue. I've also tried turning off all fans to check if that would help, but it didn't resolve the problem.
It seems the noise comes from the pump itself. Mounting your AIO correctly can help control that sound. Some models, especially those with powerful pumps like the Silverstone PF series, tend to be louder—make sure you're securing it properly and positioning it for optimal performance.
It’s positioned at the front with tubes at the base. If the pump makes a whine, possible fixes exist or it might be an issue with your AIO.
It appears many people have encountered the same problem. I can arrange for a replacement to be sent.
