New PC setup isn't booting, processor cooling fan remains inactive
Hi everyone, this is my first attempt at building a PC, and I'm really confused about what's going wrong. All parts are brand new: the CPU is an Intel Core i5-11600K F 3.9 GHz 6-core processor, the cooler is a Pure Rock 2 Black model, the motherboard is an ASRock Z590 Extreme WiFi 6E ATX with LGA1200, I have 32 GB of Corsair Vengeance LPX RAM (2x16 GB at 3200 MHz), a Western Digital Black SN850X 2 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD, an Acer Predator BiFrost OC Arc A770 16 GB graphics card, and a Thermaltake Toughpower Grand RGB 650W power supply that's fully modular and certified 80+ Gold. The case is a Corsair 4000D Airflow RGB mid-tower unit.
After assembling everything and turning it on with RGB lighting, the GPU lights up while the CPU and case fans spin, but the display doesn't show anything and the CPU and RAM lights are red on the MOBO. I disassembled the system and reassembled just the CPU, cooler, a single stick of RAM, and the GPU outside the case. When I connected the 8-pin and 24-pin connectors and powered it up again, the RGB on MOBO and GPU turned on, the GPU fan spun, but the CPU cooler didn't. I also tried connecting the cooler to both CPU fans 1 and 2, as well as a CHASIS fan header, but none of those worked.
It seems the cooler's fan isn't functioning. Would you like me to check another component or system for testing?
I'm thinking about whether the fans will be there for this mobile. It seems like a poor mobile choice.
