New PC experiences extremely high temperatures causing game crashes
I recently purchased a new PC and installed Open Hardware Monitor. The temperatures on my system are extremely high, which raises questions about the program's reliability. My GPU temperature reads 129 Fahrenheit, while the mainboard shows around 95°F for the first three components but only 40°F for the fourth and 240°F for the fifth. I discovered this tool while trying to diagnose PC issues, as steam games often stutter briefly before closing without any error messages. Based on these readings, I’m concerned about its accuracy, especially with such high values.
Listed components and OS version included. Temperatures converted to Celsius for wider compatibility.
CPU: Intel® Core™ Processor i7-13700K
MEMORY: 32GB (16GBx2) DDR5/7200MHz Dual Channel Memory (Team T-FORCE DELTA RGB)
MOTHERBOARD: ASUS PRIME Z790-P
GPU: GIGABYTE GeForce RTX™ 4070 Ti WINDFORCE OC
OS: Windows 11 Home
Steam frequently closes my game on its own and sometimes enters a repetitive opening-closing loop. Restarting the PC allows playtime briefly, but once it shuts down again, the problem worsens until I restart again.
