I selected the Montech because it offers superior airflow. The only adjustment I’d make is switching to the Z690 Extreme motherboard. It provides enhanced power delivery, improved audio performance, and a more optimal rear I/O setup, only costing an additional $10.

Yeah if you can fit the 7900gre that looks like a great card.
I grabbed a 6800xt last december on a sale and it's a great card, but I got it for 439. I can say that when you step up from a card like a 6700xt or middle class card and you start getting to the better cards, there is a difference on smoothness etc. Granted a 6800xt is a little behind a 7900gre, closer to a 7800xt level performance, but there does appear to be a difference in fps and fidelity to a point.

Thanks for your input and ideas. I plan to keep using all AMD, CPU, and GPU options. The suggested build @logainofhades looks most aligned with what I need.

The Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE recommended as a replacement for the included heatsink/fan is the right choice. The existing heatsink/fan may not be functioning properly.

Improved cooling and reduced noise mainly. With PBO enabled, higher boost clocks are also possible.

Sorry for my delayed reply on your prompt. I set up the Thermalright. Thanks again to all for your advice. I wrapped up the build on Saturday morning and spent the weekend configuring it and playing games. The machine runs smoothly, and the visuals are great. I’ve been enjoying Insurgency: Sandstorm on Windows 11, Spider-Man Remastered & Tom’s Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands on Fedora 40 Plasma. My main question is: what affordable LED strip would fit into this Montech case and work well with the Gigabyte board?

I have previously used deepcool branded strips with my Gigabyte board.
