New PC boots with just two clicks after turning on.
I've just put together a PC, I'm sure all the connectors and slots are properly seated. Most of these components have been used before. I'm not against the possibility something might be wrong. Mobo, PSU, GPU were given to me by friends, but the rest I've bought and used recently. CPU and RAM are brand new, and the storage is fresh. Parts list: R7 2700X / MSI 1660ti / Gigabyte X570 iAORUS PRO WIFI Mini ITX / G.Skill Ripjaws 2x8 3600 DDR4 / FSP Group Dagger Pro 650W 80+ Gold the power button LED is on when the PSU is active. When I press it, I only get two quick clicks from the PSU. No fans or anything. I have no idea except maybe the PSU is failing. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
You can detach the cables from the motherboard, including the power and 24-pin connectors, then perform the paper clip test to check if the PSU is operational. Most units include a self-test feature where the fan increases speed and then stops. The fan inside the PSU may attempt to run but remain silent, indicating a fault that requires replacement.
