New PC began operating games with severe performance issues during the night?
Hello, this is my first time reaching out, but the PC specialist support lines are currently unavailable. I urgently require assistance with this issue (thank you very much ahead of time).
I recently purchased a new PC from PC Specialist on February 15, 2024, intending to send it back for repairs because of a defective motherboard. After the repairs were completed on March 1, 2024, I resumed using it for gaming, mainly playing Helldivers 2. It operated perfectly until last night when I used it briefly and experienced significant slowdowns and input lag.
Since then, opening Helldivers has become nearly impossible, and when it does open, the performance is severely impacted with noticeable delays. No changes have been made to the hardware or settings. The issue persists even with games like Dave the Diver that previously ran smoothly.
Please find the component details below, and any guidance would be greatly appreciated!
Welcome to the forums, newcomer!
Check your BIOS version on your motherboard and consider updating it to the latest, then reset the CMOS. Disconnect from power and display, remove the CMOS battery, hold the power button for 30 seconds, and reinsert after 30 minutes.
Use Samsung's Magician App to verify if your SSD needs firmware updates. For performance issues, run DDU to uninstall all GPU drivers (Intel, Nvidia, AMD), then reinstall using the latest driver from AMD's support site.
Run the installer as an administrator in an elevated command prompt.
Make sure you're using Windows; let me know if you're on another OS.
