I recently assembled my initial PC using a Gigabyte B560M DS3H motherboard. During the first boot screen, I’m stuck and can’t connect my keyboard. I’ve checked everything I could find—confirmed the correct USB port, verified the Dell keyboard is powered on and showing Num Lock, tested F12 for boot access, and tried pressing DEL repeatedly. I even swapped out the power button and held it in various ways, but nothing worked. A USB to PS/2 adapter was ordered but failed; I’d rather not purchase a full PS/2 keyboard just for this task. I experimented with different power button combinations—holding, pressing, and even fiddling with settings—but reached a screen that both the mouse and keyboard functioned on. I changed the BIOS four times, praying to each one, which felt like a long spiritual quest. Removing the graphics card, battery, and other nonessential components didn’t help. I’m convinced the issue lies in an uninitialized driver, and I suspect there might be alternative solutions beyond standard setups. This is exhausting, and I’m running low on patience. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Wow, just noticed someone posted nearly identical content a week back except for the PS/2 detail. Should I actually purchase one now...? Updated August 11, 2022 by Bucky127 Fixed it.

It was a bit awkward at first, but I figured it out. I placed the RAM in two slots, but the instructions said otherwise. Now it’s functioning properly with a USB keyboard.
