Hello! I just upgraded my Ryzen 1600 to a 3600X and noticed some issues with my old Gigabyte AB350M gaming 3. I'm considering an upgrade and wondering which chipset offers the best value right now. I’m not too concerned about PCIe 4.0 and don’t have an NVMe SSD yet, though I’m unsure if it’s worth prioritizing for future-proofing.
Budget? Skip x470, it's out of the question. Too expensive and doesn't add anything. B450 is solid. Tomahawk max, mortar max, pro 4, pro vdh max, and a pro max (non M) are okay. For b550, Tomhawk, mortar, pro 4, Aorus Pro, and Strix F are decent options.
The budget is about 150€, and I need a MATX laptop since I don’t have enough room for an ATX. I’d also like more than four SATA ports, but it seems hard to find many ports on recent motherboards, so four should be fine in the worst case. Is the B550M Steel Legend a good option? I could find it for 140€.
