New motherboard just arrived, scratched but still functional.
Yesterday I received my brand new Ryzen 5 3600 paired with an MSI X570 MAG TOMAHAWK WIFI card. I was assembling the PC until the final zip tie, which I tighten with pliers. When I pulled it out, BAM! I accidentally damaged a scratch on my new motherboard—heartbreaking! The cuts were visible enough to see some copper traces clearly. Still, I managed to upload the system and ran tests like 3D Mark and Cinebench R15 without any problems. Ultimately, I’m wondering if I was really lucky not to damage the board or worry about that cut being close to the CPU. I’ve attached the photos for your reference and appreciate your helpful advice.
Damn, good that everything is still running as expected. I think youll be fine, Ive actually done worse on older motherboards by accident Maybe put some insulation tape over it, so you cant accidentally short it with something,
