Hey there, welcome! I’m still getting used to English, but I’m glad you’re here. I’ve been following Linus and the team since 2014, and I’ve put together my very first PC after years of using an OMEN Gaming Laptop. I’m used to dealing with high temps and noisy fans. Here’s what my build looks like:

- CPU: Ryzen 7 7800X3D
- RAM: Kingston Furry DDR5 CL36 (32GB)
- GPU: PowerColor Radeon RX 7800 XT
- Case: NZXT H5 Elite
- PSU: bequiet! Straight Power 11 850W
- Cooling: NZXT Z53 Kraken, thermal paste Grizzly Kryonaut
- BIOS: Updated to 1.28 (public since 28/07/23)
- Curve adjustments: Custom profiles for fans and thermal limits

I noticed the case isn’t ideal for airflow, but I didn’t have space for a bigger one. That’s why I chose the H5 over the H7. The fan curves are set so each part has its own target temperature, and I’ve attached some pictures for reference.

For performance tests:
- Cinebench: 18,260 points (max 84.9°C)
- 3DMark: CPU 13,471, GPU 19,996

I’m curious about some things:
- Room temp is around 23°C.
- NZXT CAM doesn’t recognize my GPU, but I’ve changed it to make the 7800 XT the main one.
- Still no readings for temps, usage, or fan speeds.
- I’ve seen AM5 chips can get hot even with low TDPs—my pump and fans seem fine, but I’m not sure if adjustments are needed.
- After a few hours of Apex Legends, I hit 68.8°C on average, peaking at 81.5°C.
- Resolution is 3440x1440, FPS capped at 150 with high settings.
- On the AMD side, I read max temps around 89°C—does that match what’s shown?

Any tips or answers to my questions would be super helpful. Thanks a lot!

Sounds about right, its a 7800x3D. 89C is the default throttle point, so unless you're using a lower PBO2 maximum, you're well within spec at 81.5C. Whenever I Run my 7950x3D at 8+0 pseudo 7800x3D, I see a similar thermal characteristic. 3D v-cache adds two heat transfer layers to the CPU which inevitably results in higher CPU temperatures. Even while drawing 45W, its common to see it spike to 'red'. 18260 on R23 shows there's no sharp thermal limitation, so I wouldn't worry about that. Something to note, if you're using 'High Performance' power plan versus the default 'balanced' (recommended), then I would put it back to 'balanced'. Its unlikely your issue since the R23 score suggests you're already in 'balanced'.

Hello guys, first off all thanks for your opinion so far. The specifications of my components has been read carefully, but I'm still new to this whole topic and there is so much "wrong" informations in the internet.. I have a issue that I faced today: -> fixed it myself - HDR under WIN 11 caused it, turned it off now it not happend again Also sometimes the PC freezes for like a second or two - can't click, neither close windows etc. I can't recreate the issue... Somebody knows more then me? BR Gravity
