New MOBO and case for AM4 system
Hi everyone, I’m looking for some guidance on what to choose.
I’ve chosen to stick with the AMD AM4 platform in the near future. I need a fresh motherboard and a new case. Eventually, I plan to upgrade my graphics card.
The case isn’t doing too well anymore, and the cooler is barely fitting. I’m hoping for improved airflow. The MOBO model has a few minor problems, and I’m uncertain whether it would accommodate a larger GPU after an upgrade.
Could you recommend a suitable case and motherboard? I’m a casual gamer mainly playing first-person shooters, and I also use my PC for live music recording. I have ample space, so a full tower setup is possible. If needed, I can skip the optical drives.
Also, will Windows 10 work with a new MOBO? Everything else should remain unchanged.

The B450 Tomahawk is seen as a reasonable choice at its cost. The problems you're experiencing that make replacement worth considering are not detailed here.
I had to disconnect the cable linking the motherboard to the front headphone jack. When plugged into the MOBO, the computer behaves oddly—there seems to be a short circuit. It could mean an issue with the motherboard, the wires, or the case itself. Everything functions properly without the wire connected. Since I’m replacing the case and will mostly take it apart, I decided to swap out the MOBO.
To achieve full utilization of 5800x3D, you'll need a b550/x570 motherboard. It's unlikely manufacturers would provide a proper BIOS for 3D enhanced cache memory. Asus has made the most progress in this area with their BIOS. I recommend the Asus B550 TUF Gaming as one of the best options.
