the mb didn't automatically adjust the settings; i had to modify it myself. it seems a 5x5 claims ryzen is now more advanced than expected, particularly for memory. i managed to get it running at 3300mhz at cl 15 on my msi board, which was impressive. with a cl of 15, i never achieved that speed before. i couldn't run them smoothly with my asus board at 3000mhz cl 15, but 3200mhz cl 16 worked. did you know msi was a board partner for ryzen? the mb was used for testing and developing ryzen.

I was aware of that too! It's not surprising to see them struggling on the Ryzen platform. Maybe it's a clash of the biggest problems compared to AsRock, which seems to be a strong competitor. It could be that more folks opt for the budget builds and end up facing more issues simply because those lower-end boards have sold more units than others. Most of the memory overclocking cases I assist with use MSI 3600x boards paired with low-end kits.
