New look for your Windows 10 desktop is ready.
Microsoft is gearing up to launch Windows 10 on July 29, and a fresh desktop background image is required. The current Windows logo isn’t enough. The company hired artists to design a unique visual for the new OS. In a recent YouTube video, they demonstrated how light and lasers were used to craft the new wallpaper. Guided by motion graphics expert Bradley G Munkowitz, the team constructed two setups in a San Francisco studio, turning the logo into a light-based artwork. "The concept revolves around one-point perspective, acting as a gateway into space," Munkowitz explained. "We employed unusual methods, essentially mapping the logo onto a camera." This process generated a rich mix of light, haze, lasers, and intricate details. A significant amount of creative effort went into the project, with Microsoft urging the team to explore experimental approaches. The outcome offers a distinct visual compared to previous Windows releases. "It’s thrilling to work as an artist in an era where our tools keep evolving," Munkowitz remarked. "I’m excited about delivering a flawless, high-quality image."
I need some dynamic backgrounds, similar to a screen saver for your computer desktop. Got it!
It seems interesting, I probably went for the Tech Preview wallpapers but that’s fine too. (I also enjoyed the 8.1 ones [the pink flower on a blue background]). I believe Apple handles default wallpapers better [look at OS X versions 10.6 through 10.11]. I still dislike the search bar location and preferred the charms bar. It feels quicker or simpler than navigating to the start menu and then down to the taskbar for power settings or app searches.
