New JBL boombox model with minor distortion in certain tracks
I solved it thanks to someone familiar with JBL products—the buzz comes from the SBC codecs in the Bluetooth link. I tested the same track using a 3.5mm jack and it played smoothly at all volumes. Disappointing, but I’m sure my device is still working fine.
It appears no one has a clear answer or explanation. There seem to be multiple versions of the same model, and the rubber in passive radiators varies—some softer, others harder. Softer ones expand more, just like the Boombox 1 version pl. I bought a pair from Alliexpress for the Boombox 2...I’ll check if there’s any difference. Using the 3.5mm connection reduces power and volume by about 40%, which makes sense since that loud, Bluetooth-only sound only comes out at maximum volume.
