ASRock B550M PRO4 AM4
AMD Ryzen 7 1700X
CORSAIR Vengeance LPX 8x4 32 GB 3200 DDR4
Nvidia 2070
MSI - MPG A850G PCIE 5.0 850 Watt power supply
COUGAR DuoFace Pro RGB Black ATX Mid Tower Gaming Case
Recent build, the CPU is an older model I previously used, but it’s now running Windows 11. The RAM came from another PC and performed well. I also had a different stick of DDR4 from a separate computer, but installing just one worked fine. It seems to be from an Alienware older system.
Dram and CPU fault lights were on, and there was no video output. I tested with and without the graphics card. Problems occurred regardless.
Tried both RAM types. Experimented with another 8-pin connector on the power supply and a different cable. The cable indicates the CPU is connected, suggesting it’s the right one.
Uncertain what else to try.
When powered on, all fans and the CPU fan are spinning, and all connections look correct.

Hello,
If you mention the RAM sticks are unique, verify that you're not using both in a dual-channel setup. Then select another RAM slot to fit the second stick.

Are the updates for Win11 active, and are secure boot features turned on?

seems the 1700x is not supported by that motherboard. It only supports the 3000, 4000, and 5000 CPUs
... And I was trying only 1 RAM stick at a time. This motherboard not supporting the CPU I believe is the issue.
... And I can't get into the BIOS to update it. I get no video from the system.

This motherboard?
https://download.asrock.com/Manual/B550M Pro4.pdf
[Make sure you have the right manual.]
Go through the entire guide to understand what was done and pay close attention to all details, clauses, etc. Be alert for any oversight or mistake.
First, make sure the parts you plan to use are compatible. Also, check the manufacturer's site for any updates to the QVL (Qualified Vendor's List).
Next, verify that the RAM you have installed is correct—both must be supported and configured properly.
Third, after turning off the system and unplugging the power supply, disconnect and reconnect all connectors, RAM, cards, jumpers, and case connections. Leave the CPU untouched.
No one wants to rush things, especially when building from scratch. What looks connected might not be. You might find that everything suddenly fits together more smoothly and securely.
Take your time, work in a clean and well-lit space. If anything seems wrong, pause and fix it before moving forward.

Thank you for the update. This was my problem. I ordered a 5800x, which is supported, and confirmed the RAM is also supported. The new CPU should resolve the issue.
