I updated the BIOS on my motherboard (ASRock A320M/AC) to version 7.00 and after reaching full installation it instructed me to press enter to restart. The system went black immediately without rebooting. Now when I try to power it up, everything except the GPU boots, fans spin briefly, then the GPU fan starts for about ten seconds before stopping, and the RGB lights come on—but there’s no display from either the GPU or the motherboard. I’m new to this and none of the online tips helped. What should I do?

What processor is currently installed? Could the CPU no longer be compatible with the newest BIOS you have set up?

You should not swap the CPUs. The newer BIOS may not be compatible with your Ryzen 3, which could lead to issues. It's best to keep both units together or upgrade only one at a time if needed.

I tried and it didn’t change anything, so I decided to consult the experts.

These AM4 BIOS versions are quite extensive, often causing older systems to be overlooked in favor of newer releases.

The specific Ryzen 3 model you're asking about is likely the 1st or early 2nd generation. Many older 1st and some 2nd gen units were taken out of support because their BIOS chips were too small to fit everything. Checking if your R5 5600X would work makes sense. The 5600X requires BIOS version 7.20, so if you have that installed, it won't be supported and probably won't function either.

I downloaded the 7.00 because the asrocks site mentioned that the 7.00 BIOS update was required before installing 7.20.

It depends on the BIOS release; some versions support all BIOS updates while others end at 4.00. It looks like your system probably uses the version that caps at 4.00.

That makes sense, I'm looking into flashing a bios over the incorrect bios without a cpu, I know on asus they have a button but asrock seems to have a different system for this. Thank you for your advice! If you have any other advice on the matter it'd be much appreciated.
