New devices detected in Device Manager?
Following the recent Windows 7 auto-update, my system is behaving oddly. In Device Manager I found an entry marked with a question mark—a Marvell 91XX—and resolved it by updating BIOS, drivers, and software to the latest versions. I also have: 41 Base System Devices, 4 Performance Counters, 1 SM Bus Controller, 1 System Interrupt Controller, all labeled with an exclamation point. Windows is unable to automatically detect or install drivers (it keeps retrying each time I power on). Scanning the device ID returned no matches... Anyone have suggestions for fixing this? ASUS P9X79 Deluxe Motherboard (same board used in tech tips test bench) running Windows 7 64-bit.
I've set up the hotfix- ASUS Product Registration Program V1.0.014 on Windows XP, Vista, 7, and 8 both 32-bit and 64-bit. The system was updated with BIOS P9X79 DELUXE BIOS 4701 on 2012.09.20, followed by a newer BIOS update on 2014.06.23 (the latest is still in BETA). The chipset used is Intel Management Engine Interface V9.5.15.1730, compatible with Windows 32/64bit and various processor architectures. Audio support includes Realtek Audio Driver versions 5.10.0.6657 and 6.0.1.6657 across multiple Windows editions. LAN functionality relies on Intel LAN Driver V18.1.59.0, with several updates from 2013 onward. USB support features Asmedia USB 3.0 Driver V1.16.10.0 and other ASUS utilities for various Windows versions. Performance enhancements come from ASUS AI Suite II, Mobilink, SSD Caching, Update, BT GO!, Power Control, EPU, FAN Xpert Plus, My Logo, Probe II, System Information, TurboV EVO, USB 3.0 Boost, and SATA drivers. All components are sourced from the official ASUS download page.
