Creating a fresh setup. Z107, I7, GTX 980 Ti, 16GB DDR4, 1TB SSD, win 10. The final point is tricky. With an OEM setup, the OS is linked to the hardware, making it hard to switch without replacing the card or upgrading the board. If I build a new rig later, changing the CPU or switching to a newer chip might force a new motherboard. Should I opt for OEM or Retail components? Can I duplicate my SSD without the operating system and transfer it into the new install? Or am I chasing an illusion? If this isn’t the right category, let me know where to move it.

If you intend to upgrade your motherboard later, retail stores or OEM options are available. - You can manage the situation regardless of your choice.
