I assembled my initial PC yesterday. It powers on, fans and lights activate. The DRAM and CPU indicators are illuminated on the motherboard. After disassembling it three times, I still haven’t found a solution. I’m concerned something is wrong and suspect a faulty component. I don’t have any replaceable parts to test. My troubleshooting steps include: verifying CPU pins and placement, confirming the CPU connector on the board, testing RAM sticks individually with proper clicks, checking all motherboard connections, and trying both HDMI and DVI inputs. Specifications: CPU Ryzen 7 3700X, ASRock B550M Pro4 GPU, GeForce GTX 750ti, G-Skill Aegis RAM 8GB 3200MHz (x2), Silverstone Strider ST50F PSU, 500W, 1TB Seagate Barracuda storage.
Have you also experimented with inserting the RAM (only one stick) into each slot? I faced an issue with my motherboard and couldn't select the right slots, so I had to return it for repair. EDIT: I did some research and recommend these steps: Verify RAM compatibility. If the codes "F 4 - 3 2 0 0 C 1 6 S - 8 G I S" match yours, it should function properly, but double-check to avoid receiving incorrect parts. Ensure the RAM is fully seated in its slot and you’ll hear a clear click. If problems persist, reset the CMOS by removing the battery from your motherboard and follow the same procedure. If this doesn’t help, just let me know and we’ll proceed from there.
In the attached photo the RAM is positioned properly. Unless this particular MOBO demands a different RAM placement, that’s the case. He mentioned he has tested both HDMI and DVI connections; even though he plugged it into the motherboard, it should function without MB errors and display at least basic operation. If that was the sole concern here, it should be resolved.
I've tested the RAM in all slots and confirmed the serial connection is present on the sticks. I'm also checking for clear clicks before powering them up. As a beginner, I'm struggling to locate the CMOS battery removal guide for my specific motherboard. Other instructions I've found aren't helpful. What should I do?
I'm having trouble more than needed with the CMOS, it's midnight so I'll attempt again tomorrow morning. If that doesn't resolve the problem, I'll try resetting the CPU cooler and follow up.
