I previously built a PC with an AMD Athlon 880k processor, which limited my ability to achieve 60 frames per second on low settings in modern games. I am concerned about potential compatibility issues with a new build and want to know if there are any problems beyond Windows activation. Specifically, I’m worried about whether my new graphics card will work with my updated motherboard and CPU, and what drivers I should remove before the upgrades.

Consider purchasing a 3600 and an MSI B450 Tomahawk MAX motherboard to save money. See https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help...are-change. Install motherboard and GPU drivers after reinstalling the operating system, not before it.

You will most likely have to reactivate Windows, but besides that there’s nothing to worry about. You can however save money and buy 3200 MHz RAM for the Ryzen 5 3600X. Just update your new system once it gets going and you should be ready to go.

Certain AMD B450 chipset motherboards necessitate a BIOS update before utilizing Matisse processors. Updating the BIOS might require an older, compatible CPU supported by previous BIOS versions.

Partpicker is not fully updated. MSI's B450 MAX supports Ryzen 3000 out of the box, and it's crucial to note the "MAX" designation. Verify this yourself at: https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/...upport-cpu
