Hello! A few weeks ago I started assembling my new pc parts: MOBO, CPU, GPU and RAM. But now I'm having game crashes, big zip files unzip crash, and a lot of errors in Crome "status_access_violation" that i understand is related to RAM issues.
Here's the parts list:
https://it.pcpartpicker.com/list/syrrpK
CPU
: Intel Core i7 14700K
MOBO
: MSI PRO H610M-E DDR4 (MS-7D48) ->
docs
RAM
: Kingston FURY Beast 64GB (2x32)
GPU
: GIGABYTE Radeon RX 7600 XT GAMING OC 16G (GV-R76XTGAMING OC-16GD)
First, i updated motherboard bios to the latest version (
with Microcode 0x12B
), as PCPartPicker was warning of that. After that all the hw and windows installation went good.
I've already changed the RAM sticks, from Corsair Vengeance LPX 64GB to Kingston FURY Beast 64GB.
Memtest86 and OCCT passed with flying colors.
I've tried from XMP 3200 to no ram OC to manual OC, with no change in the problem.
I'm aware the weak link in this build is the motherboard, but by manufacturer specifications it should work.
I think the issue may be in my CPU IMC or somewhere in my Motherboard? Is this not a RAM problem at all? What should i do?
Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the forums, newcomer! I've updated the motherboard bios to the latest version (with Microcode 0x12B), as PCPartPicker had concerns. Everything about the hardware and Windows installation came through smoothly. For context, what BIOS version are you using on your motherboard? Did you reset the CMOS after confirming the BIOS flash was successful? I know the weak point here is the motherboard itself, but according to the manufacturer's specs it should be fine. You chose the wrong board for that processor—you should have considered a Z series chipset with a robust VRM design. How old is your XFX PSU and what did it previously power? I've already swapped out the RAM from Corsair Vengeance LPX 64GB to Kingston FURY Beast 64GB. If the RAM capacity remained unchanged, why did you make that change?

Hi, thank you for the friendly greeting!
The BIOS I installed is the most recent version, 7D48vAJ. I reset the CMOS several times after installation.
My PSU is quite old, having been in service for about 6 to 7 years, powering the following components: MSI H97 GAMING 3, Intel i5 (exact model not remembered), 16GB RAM, and AMD Radeon R9-380.
I replaced the first set of RAM because I run Memtest86 and it failed the Hammer test. I’ve heard that passing only this test doesn’t necessarily mean the sticks are faulty, but at that time I was already experiencing crashes. The sticks were still under warranty, so I sent them back.
About the motherboard, I now realize it might not be up to spec. Since I’m not familiar with MOBO techs, I relied on the manufacturer’s specifications for compatibility checks. It seems this isn’t sufficient anymore.
There’s something else I should consider before replacing it?

Check with one stick of ram to see if it makes a difference.

I performed some tests since yesterday, including yours Bob, without any success. This morning I reviewed some advice and came across a suggestion: https://www.reddit.com/r/pchelp/com...=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button. My first adjustment was to lower my CPU ratio by five times on all cores. After testing the system for the past hour, none of the previous issues are present anymore! The standard failure tests I ran—like a large zip file and an intensive web app—have now worked perfectly multiple times. I’ll keep tweaking these settings but still need to figure out what’s causing it.
@Lutfij
Could it be related to the underspecified VRM design of my board?
