Good morning everyone! Here’s a summary of the build details:

The system features an ASUS Prime x670 P-Wifi motherboard running BIOS v0823, a Ryzen 9 7000X processor, an ASUS TUF RTX 3070 Ti with 8GB GDDR6 memory (GRD v527.56), Corsair DDR5 5600MHz RAM, and a Corsair RM850x power supply. This was assembled last Saturday at a friend’s place and was successfully booted to Windows 10 using an ESD-boot setup.

The main challenges started with updating the Windows 11 key—Microsoft confirmed it wasn’t assigned elsewhere. After resolving that, the biggest issue was game performance. In World of Warcraft, sessions lasted only 20-30 minutes before either freezing or crashing. Launching Tiny Tina usually lasted 30-50 minutes before a crash occurred, either through forced shutdown or BSOD.

Other tests confirmed the GPU was drawing around 317W during gaming, with temperatures reaching 71°C/96°C (GPU memory) and 82°C (hotspot). When crashes happened, HWinfo reported power usage near 70 watts. Recent troubleshooting—reinstalling Windows 11, clearing drivers, updating BIOS, and checking RAM stability—did not resolve the problem. I also ran MemTest86, which showed no hardware faults, but a memory issue was suspected.

Any advice or further steps would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

It seems there might be a temperature issue or an incorrect cooler setup. Verify that your RAM is listed on the motherboard’s specifications. Also, ensure your RAM sticks are compatible with the latest DDR5 kits you’re using.

Hey there! Thanks for the kind words! It turns out my RAM didn’t work with my board, so I went to Micro Center and swapped in a G-Skill Corsair. To be extra sure, I also loosened the CPU cooler since it felt a bit snug after a long gaming session today. Appreciate your help!
