Thank you for your feedback.
I reviewed some materials and went through a variety of resources.
To enable video and boot to BIOS, I had to update the memory settings. I’m unsure why the original RAM didn’t function properly in this model, even though it’s listed there. The newer ones worked.

The hard drive in the broken machine was installed about three years ago with assistance from a friend. I’m not sure if it was CSM or UEFI, but I suspect it was UEFI. The main issue now is that I only have a laptop and can’t access either drive with the ASUS model.
I’m seeing the same screen as before. The only shared part is the SSD. During testing with the old Dell, we couldn’t boot from a reliable source, so I assumed the problem was related to the motherboard. This led me to rebuild everything—including the motherboard, CPU, case, RAM, and power supply.
The screen displays:

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
The computer I'm replacing is an old Dell Inspiron. I think the hard drive failed because we couldn't boot it from a known good thumb drive. I need to recover my Windows 10 hard drive, which was in the Dell; now in the new machine, it appears in the BIOS but won't boot from it. CountMike suggested reinstalling Windows, but Dell's recovery tool didn't work with the service tag. He mentioned it only works on Windows 8, which I had before the failure. I need a Windows file to install so I can try restoring it from the current 1tb Samsung SSD.
The "recovery" merely restores system files, such as drivers, from the Windows version it originated from. It does not involve upgrades or updates since, and is limited to that specific computer. It offers little value outside the initial period on the same machine. View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EBoCZc5XGrA
You might prefer using W11 instead of W10, as the latter will lack support in about a year or so. The licenses for both W10 and W11 are identical.
Well that didn't work. I saved the boot recovery disk to a thumb drive and began the process. It asked for the MS code for my Windows version, which I don't remember since both main and backup drives are recognized but won't boot. I clicked the "I don't know it" option and it said "The upgrade option isn't available." I already have Windows 10 installed on the drives, so I'm not upgrading. What should I do next?
Thanks, Tom
I believe you're correct, and I'm here to help you with the right tool.
Once the system starts from the installation disc, choose the repair option.
