I recently installed a broadband connection and the router from the ISP often needs to restart (power on/off) because connected devices via WiFi frequently disconnect. Sometimes they stay connected but we can't access the internet. The router gets quite hot due to many devices like TVs, phones, laptops being connected. Would upgrading the router help, or is this more about router settings or ISP issues?

Usually in the US, the routers from the ISP are too powerful for regular use. Adding more connected devices doesn’t raise the temperature (at least according to my own experience).

They provided either a router alone or a modem and router together. It's important to understand this before purchasing any equipment.
