I created a mesh system at home using three Asus Lyra AC2200 devices. I’m facing some issues that I’m trying to resolve. The main node is located in my basement next to the modem, another on the middle floor, and a third on the top floor. If I’m in the kitchen or in the middle-floor bathroom (between two nodes), the Wi-Fi seems to drop unexpectedly—displaying full signal but no connection, even during speed tests. It usually restarts when I switch it off and on again, but it becomes frustrating over time. I think the problem might stem from being positioned between two nodes, making it hard for them to determine which one should prioritize my connection. The worst case is being close to a node yet still experiencing instability. Have anyone had similar experiences? Are there solutions or adjustments I can make? I’ve checked online, but most responses highlight how reliable the Asus Lyra is. My modem isn’t in bridge mode, should that affect performance? (For context, I have 500/500 fiber, so bandwidth shouldn’t be the issue; when the network functions, speeds are excellent throughout the house.)
