It won't. If your connection is below 100/100 it should work just fine, even on WiFi. Beyond that it will still function, but I recommend using Ethernet. It can reach up to 1 Gigabit, and no home router currently offers higher bandwidth than that.

The access point option seems a bit excessive. You could start with a DLAN solution instead. I’d suggest devolo for this—they might cost more, but I can only endorse them. Devolo DLAN Adapter utilizes your existing electrical wiring to send the network signal. It could be worth exploring.
