Network problems Device malfunctions Connectivity issues
For roughly a month now I've faced problems with my 5GHz network. It sometimes works, but on other days the video or pages fail to load and the connection drops completely. The 2.4 GHz band is fine, so it might be related to the router or your internet service provider. I'm using a TP-Link AC1750 router and Spectrum as my ISP, expecting around 100 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload. I've restarted the router and there are no firmware updates available right now.
Consider buying a $130 router only if it’s significantly cheaper than alternatives.
Throwing money at the issue might work, but life isn't that simple, my friend.
At 2.4Ghz performance is satisfactory and consistent. If you're experiencing problems, adjusting the 5Ghz channel might help identify interference. Previously, I faced an issue where my router's Wi-Fi would fail without clear cause, affecting other networks as well. Eventually, I had to turn off the router's Wi-Fi entirely and rely on my APs, which resolved the issue completely.
