Configure it as a path through an access point device, then set it to broadcast DHCP from the parent router.

Consider using a consumer-grade router instead of a Huawei ONT. These devices are built for ISP use and aren’t designed for repurposing. Your fiber ISP offers a comparable Huawei ONT, but there’s no indication in the admin panel to convert it. Opting for a standard router will reduce potential issues.

I usually go back to the Honor Router 3 because it originally supported AP mode, but it didn’t behave the same way as other consumer routers. It turned off all but one Ethernet port and blocked certain traffic between that access point and the rest of the network. It seemed more like NAT than bridging, even though it used the standard LAN IP range. That was quite strange.
