Today I got new broadband with speeds near 500mpbs. My Ethernet cable works fine on my PC but slows down to about 180mpbs when used with a Mac. It also caps on my PC even though I use a USB adapter. I suspect the port might be limited or there could be interference. The i7-8700k has both 1Gbps and a 2.5Gbps port, but I’m not sure how to optimize it. P.S., this is my first forum post—still figuring things out.

Hello, seems like you're in the correct location. The issue does feel a bit unusual. My main thought is a bit unconventional—180 typically refers to a modest Wi-Fi speed. Does your ISP's router also support Wi-Fi? I’m curious if you might think you’re connected via Ethernet while actually using Wi-Fi.
