I’m experiencing issues with my wireless adapter on the computer. It often struggles to maintain a stable connection, frequently dropping below 1 Mbps. Recently installing an Oculus Rift and adjusting the PC position has made the problem worse, causing it to fluctuate between 100 kb and near zero. Moving the USB dongles or even a few centimeters changes the connection quality significantly. After tightening the dongles, I’m currently getting around 120 kb on Steam with the correct region, but it still drops and jumps by about half a Mbps. This seems more related to hardware or driver settings rather than just physical placement.

You might want to reach out to Oculus support since they developed this product. Test the device in a USB 2.0 port to check for differences. In the worst case, simply disconnect it when downloading. Recent updates suggest adjusting the WiFi channel your device uses can resolve bandwidth issues. The process differs between routers, so consulting your manual or searching online for your model’s guide would help.
