Hello, I'm setting up a fiber network (500/100 Mbps) this week. The issue is the cable arrives on the incorrect side of the house and on the wrong floor. I need a connection for my computer and want better Wi-Fi coverage on the second floor without much technical experience. I've never built a home solution before using consumer equipment. Any suggestions on how to proceed?

Connect a thick Ethernet cable directly to the router for optimal performance and stability.

This approach works for one scenario, but it doesn’t ensure Wi-Fi coverage on the second floor. I can set up a router to act as a switch or extender, though I’m not sure about the setup details.

Link it with another device featuring a Wi-Fi router.

You might find this useful: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07RQ4D1CT/ref...72&sr=8-15 It could slightly slow your Wi-Fi but works well as a demonstration. Look for access points in your desired speed range on sites like Amazon.

Ideally, connect your wireless AP through Ethernet. I’d consult the technician who brings you home about setting up new connections to the areas you require. Steps:
1. OTM → preferred router spot
2. Router → your PC area
3. Router → desired WAP spot
Or
1. OTM → your PC (place router there)
2. Router → preferred WAP location
