Internet works really well and is super fast, though I’d disconnect for a second every five minutes. It’s hard to tell while watching Netflix or YouTube, but you can feel it when it cuts me off during games. On Wi-Fi I don’t disconnect at all, but there are noticeable lag spikes. I’ve tried updating drivers, checking the motherboard, and using a different Ethernet cable. Please help.

Are you sure your modem is current and have you reached out to your ISP about it?

Discussed with Comcast, they believe it's a modem hardware issue.

That's quite common, right? Did you manage to secure your own space or are you currently renting?

I have it. I don’t believe there’s anything incorrect with the router. While playing League of Legends, my speeds would be extremely fast until about five minutes, after which it would display “Attempting to reconnect,” though I could still chat on Discord.

As you can see, I also participate in the league. That was my biggest problem. I contacted Optimum, who updated my modem firmware, and now everything is working properly.
