I just discovered that purchasing a gaming router isn't necessary when your ISP experiences delays. However, with a tri-band router offering 1000mbps per channel like the Verizon Fios RT-AC3200 (1gbps each), would you still achieve that performance?

WiFi is quite sensitive to its environment. Obstacles like walls, interference, and metal can significantly reduce its performance. Expecting high speeds like 1Gb from WiFi is unrealistic. Companies inflate numbers by combining the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands in ideal conditions.

Tri-band works best in areas with heavy wireless activity. You won’t find any signal unless the conditions are ideal, and even then the maximum is around 800 with a 3x3 setup. Are you experiencing connectivity issues?
