Based on your reasoning, just one gadget is connecting to the web during the alternate trial involving the switch. The switch is the sole factor altering the connection path.
Switching the network as shown in the photo resolved my problem. It's been two days since that change and I haven't been able to reproduce the issue again. I'll continue testing and will inform you if anything else arises. Additionally, I've ordered a new Cisco switch to replace the cheaper one I received for future-proofing.
