Netgear R7000 occasionally shuts down Wi-Fi unexpectedly.
I received a Netgear R7000 and it’s been really difficult to get it functioning properly. I got it about a month ago, and even during the first few days it was just trying to fix itself after troubleshooting. It would suddenly cut off the wireless Wi-Fi, so all phones and PCs that needed Ethernet lost connection—though the Ethernet still worked fine. After updating the router’s firmware manually (since it couldn’t find a new version on its own), things improved for about a month. Now it’s back to the same issue: the Wi-Fi keeps disconnecting. Unfortunately, there isn’t any newer firmware available. I’ve heard others had the same problem with this model, so I’m considering returning it and switching to another brand or router. The router still has internet access, only the wireless connection is unstable, which means everything using Ethernet remains functional. Right now it’s running firmware version V1.0.11.106_10.2.100. I found a newer update (1.0.11.110), but I’m not sure it will solve the problem permanently.
