I tried the setup again and everything functioned properly until I restarted the device. Despite using the right firmware, hardware, and model, it still loops after reboots. It’s possible something else is interfering or there might be a configuration issue that isn’t obvious. I’m not sure if the problem lies with me or with Netgear or DD-WRT.

That's possible. It relies on what you were doing before and after. Stick to the previous version of the firmware.

I wasn't taking any action. I didn't unplug it while it was displaying itself, I didn't adjust any settings during the flashing, and I simply allowed it to proceed without any interruptions. Unfortunately, there isn't a memtest86 version for routers. (That's a funny thought, but I'm wondering if faulty RAM on a router could affect it?)

Reset the router and power it down for a moment. Both the router and modem. After that, connect them back in and tell us how it goes.

I’m really confused right now... If I had to guess, the .chk file is meant to help access the OS for an upgrade, while the .bin file contains the complete installation package. It sounds like a "live image" if you understand. I’m also really sorry—I should have known better earlier. >~< My next step is figuring out how to move from that setup to DD-WRT. XP
