It likely points to a failing fan. I replaced one in a NUC and it became almost completely stuck. A simple test is to spin the fan with your finger—if it feels rigid, the bearings are worn or the lubricant is gone, and it should be replaced soon.

I looked into fan alternatives and found a Dell forum suggestion to turn off Intel SpeedStep. It helped—my temps dropped to 50-60°C during Netflix playback, and the fan stayed off. That’s silent now. I’ll probably need to replace the fan too since it’s really important. Thanks for the tip!
