Hello,
My father has an Acer Aspire C24-865 all-in-one system, and recently it failed to play a movie file until several minutes passed, after which the next morning the computer wouldn’t power on. The power button light was visible, but nothing else appeared. He was quite upset because he needed to work on important tasks on that machine. Do you know how to resolve this issue? I only need it to be working so I can move the necessary files to an external drive, and then I’ll keep the old PC since my dad already has a spare laptop, and he will eventually replace it.
Thank you for your help.

you can always remove the internal drive and transfer vital information from there to another system.
it is quite old? verify the warranty and determine if a repair is still possible.
the fact that it simply failed to power on without errors or warnings suggests a complex troubleshooting process would be needed.
how much expertise do you or any other available assistance possess in assembling, fixing, or enhancing computer hardware?

I don’t want to take apart the machine only to move data.
My dad purchased it in 2019, and I believe the warranty has ended.
The device won’t power on since that morning; it only displays the power button light and nothing else.
I’m not very familiar with fixing computers.

all you would be doing is removing the drive and connecting it to another computer.
wouldn't require dismantling the whole system.
these files must not be very important then.
if you're not even willing to simply remove a drive;
then there's nothing
you
can do to fix the system.
you should contact a local shop for repair services.
