Hi everyone, I'm working on resolving an issue with my computer. It seems my RAM is running at the speed I originally purchased it for. I enabled XMP to boost performance, but it only partially helped. Now it crashes after about 10 minutes of idle use. The motherboard is an MSI DDR5 Pro Z690-A, with a 32GB 16×2 configuration and an Intel i5-12600K.

Which model and BIOS version are you using? Determining the exact issue requires those details, as XMP compatibility varies significantly across systems.

I'm not sure about the details, but you might want to ask for clarification.

Most straightforward method is using CPU-Z. The BIOS revision appears in the Mainboard section. Memory model shows up in the SPD tab under Part Number. Important note: There are options to inspect BIOS directly, though results can vary and may not always be accurate, making this the simplest approach if it functions.

Both setup and zip are viable options. I usually prefer zip, though setup has some advantages. It’s slightly smaller, but it needs installation, while zip works without any installation.
