A few recent reviews seem to be discouraging purchases, though they could be outdated. Is the experience actually poor and is it missing the DLC features?

I played roughly four hours of it last year. The game isn't great when compared to its original version. The movement feels clunky, shooting isn't precise, and handling inventory is a bit frustrating. I think the DLC doesn't improve these issues.

It's quite enjoyable but demands more power than VR-focused games. With just a few adjustments, even my 2080 Ti can handle it. I've customized it to provide an excellent experience, though manual mods aren't advisable. Many Fallout 4 mods fail without proper fixes, requiring additional patches that can complicate things. It can quickly turn into a chaotic process. Since it doesn't include DLCs, I added them myself from Fallout 4 to ensure compatibility. I wouldn't mind spending more for a better experience if companies would consider adding VR support to open-world titles.

It's a much stronger experience than expected. Even Half-Life: Alyx doesn't quite match the immersion. I adjust settings to boost enemy numbers significantly, resulting in a much more intense encounter than the standard version. The terrain in Nuka Cola World would benefit from a mod to improve it. I haven't tried the update yet, so I'm unsure of its effectiveness. It looks like a good deal—about $23 for my copy.
