Need urgent assistance with the video card driver issue.
You were working on updating the latest Nvidia beta driver when your computer crashed. I mistakenly thought a simple restart would solve the issue. Unfortunately, it didn’t. You saw a black screen and your display stopped working. I’ve tried using the built-in video and pressing the reset button, but nothing worked. The card itself isn’t covered by a warranty, though it claims a three-year warranty on Amazon. It’s an NVIDIA GTX 770 2GB running Windows 8.1. Need advice.
This beta version has led to numerous problems for many users.
I avoid beta drivers because they haven't been fully released yet. The main reason I switched to the 337.88 drivers was to see the performance gains they offered. For instance, a driver might boost a 650Ti significantly, yet cause instability for someone using a 770. I follow the saying, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it," especially with drivers.
It occurred with my laptop, it seems to be a completely different issue. However, when an external monitor was connected it functioned properly. Now I understand you better. To try again, take out the GPU from the motherboard, connect the PC to the monitor via the built-in port, if it works, turn off the PC, reinsert the GPU with the monitor connected, and install the drivers. I believe it will resolve the problem...
