Hello! It looks like your Norton 360 subscription is up. You have a few options—free alternatives are available, and you might also consider renewing if you prefer. What do you think?

On Windows 8+ Windows Defender Malware Bytes Both free and paid versions provide 24/7 monitoring, while Windows Defender works well on its own with a weekly scan. Free Windows 7 Microsoft Security Essentials Malware Bytes Windows XP/Linux options are unclear.

AVAST Pretty is a great tool, and it's free to use. You can find it here: https://www.avast.com/en-us/index

The concerns about Avast's reliability were real, but there were also valid reasons for those worries.

I rely on it—it's proven to protect my device several times. Reliable even without cost.

Run one non-realtime scanner and one real-time one. Both Malwarebytes and AVG work well; I occasionally use MSSE on slower systems.

It's surprising to see many users suggesting MSE. For a free antivirus, consider Bitdefender or Avira—they're among the top options, even in their free forms. I favor Bitdefender for being less intrusive, though it offers limited control features compared to Avira.

Avast works well because it's free. However, it generates too many false alarms, which can be quite bothersome.
