Need to prepare the system for a 64-bit installation of Windows 7 over a 32-bit base.
so i have a 60gb ssd i installed x86 win 7 ultimate. . i had 40gb free before i reinstalled 64bit and i erased the drives through the install process. then proceeded to install win 7 64bit ultim on my 60gb ssd. it only has 18gb free space now. i dont believe i properly formatted my previous os, is their a way to merge the space and delete the old os without redeleting everything.... ? ty
Ensure you reinstall Windows completely since certain programs run differently between 64-bit and 32-bit versions. Is Windows 7 64-bit actually larger than 32-bit?
It's approximately 20-30GB, which means it's larger than expected. I'd recommend a fresh installation if possible.
