Hi, I'm facing issues with the thermal management of my 12900KS. It mainly happens when benchmarking in apps like Cinebench r23 or running extended stress tests in Cpu-z or XTU (the last two ended with BSOD). Games tend to crash after about 30 minutes, and the temperatures are between 55-70°C. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Windows 11 Pro, Corsair Obsidian 1000D, Asus Z690 Hero Maximus, Thermal Grizzly, contact frame, 12900KS, Asus Strix 3090, 64GB G-Skill 6000MHz CL30, 4x radiators, 30x LianLi AL120 EK-Quantum Momentum 2, CPU and GPU on separate loops. I'm seeing a variety of thermals, including rising columns and updrafts.

Use a quality thermal paste. Avoid constant stress testing. If BSOD appears, the device may be overclocked or faulty.

Reduce voltage can be effective.

it isn't modified just for XMP 1 and includes PTM 7950

Turning off XMP doesn't cause the BSOD anymore. It might be because the memory controller struggles with the high RAM and speed settings.

You're referring to two distinct parameters: CPU temperature and power usage. If you aim for minimal heat without complex cooling methods, skipping IHS and direct-die solutions can help, as you eliminate multiple heat dissipation layers. Concerning energy use, setting a TDP cap around 125W will lower the chip's temperature, provided ambient conditions and fan speeds remain constant. This approach might also aid in diagnosing your BSOD issue effectively.
